Gender Based Violence

At Thrive, we condemn all acts of violence against women in any form ranging from physical to emotional and mental; be it at home or work. According to a 2016 Uganda Demographic and Health Survey, up-to 22% of women aged 15 to 24 years reported to have experienced some form of sexual violence, an estimated 1 million women are exposed to sexual violence every year.

At Thrive, we are committed to sustained reduction in the cases of gender based violence by teaching the young couples importance of dialogue as a means of conflict resolution, offering counseling services to the victims, and assisting the local authorities to apprehend the perpetrators.
